Adam and David   07/02/2012

Adam comes out of the boardroom thumbing through the folder and saying his goodbyes as other board members leave the room.

David: Adam Chandler good to see you again. (He says swaggering over to Adam looking pleased with him self)
Adam:  Hayward don’t you have a life to take somewhere? (He snarls)
David: Not at the moment I was wondering if I could have a minute of your time. (He stands in front of him looking like the cat that ate the canary))
Adam: No you can’t. (He opens his briefcase placing the folder inside and closing it)
David: I’m pretty sure once you hear what I have to say you’ll make the time. (He moves to block his exit from the room)
Adam: Anything you have to say is a waste of time! (Pushing him to the side and moving towards the elevator)
David; It concerns your daughter Colby. (He calls after chuckling to himself as Adam stops in his tracks then turns to face him)
Adam: What about her?
David: Oh I see now I have your attention.
Adam: If you’ve done anything! Anything at all to hurt my daughter so help me I’ll…(he growls stepping forward causing David to back up a step and putting his hands up in defense)
David: Calm down Adam I haven’t harmed one peroxide hair on her pretty little head.
Adam: I should have just saved myself the trouble and gotten rid of you when I had the chance! (His voice a deadly whisper his face turning crimson)
David: As a medical professional you really should calm down you’re going to give your self a heart attack. (He folds his arms across his chest shaking his head and smiling smugly)
Adam: What the hell do you want Hayward?
David: I’ll make it simple, I’m working on a new heart drug and I’ve come up a little short on my funding.
Adam: Call a bank!
David: No, what I should do is call Chief Hubbard maybe tell him what I found out about a little fire in the PVU chemistry lab a few months back.
Adam: You really should pay attention to current events Hayward that was closed months ago. And I still don’t see what that has to do with my daughter or me?
David: Interesting thing the Chief Inspector says he closed the case and took an early retirement the following day after playing cards all night with your new son in-law.
Adam: Yes, well perhaps you should consult him about his social calendar.
David: He says he was forced to leave the casino in the wee hours of the morning accompanied by your son in-law and one of his goons.
Adam: What the hell does that have to do with me, or my investing in one of your potions?
David: Patience’s Adam I was just getting to that. A friend of mine was at a seminar and happened to run in to former Chief Inspector Henry.
Adam: So let me make sure I understand this you want me to believe (Choking back laughter) number one that you have a friend and that, that friend just happened to run in to the former Chief?
David: Adam, Adam, Adam, (He says with a cluck of his tongue) when will you all understand that I have lots of friends everywhere unlike the people of Pine Valley they appreciate all my talents.
Adam: My God! (His face contorted with disgust)  Is there a point to your diatribe?
David: Of course there’s a point, there’s a point to everything I do Adam. (He swaggers towards his tone deadly calm his grin mocking) Let me put it to you this way according to what Henry told my friend. Your daughter was the one responsible for the fire that left Michael Slater fighting for his life. And you are going to pay me to keep that fact quiet.
Adam: If I was even entertaining the thought of doing what you want why come to me why not go to Colby and that idiot she married?
David: I thought about that and although your daughter’s venture is impressive they don’t have as much as I’ll need and Chandler Enterprises does. Just a simple mathematical equation if you want your little girl to remain free to continue with her rather lucrative endeavors you’ll pay me for my silence.
Adam: And if I don’t?
David: Then I take what I know and take it to Chief Hubbard. You don’t have to give me an answer now I’ll give you a couple of days. You know where to find me.
Adam: Hopefully at the bottom of a cliff. (He growls)
David: Have a good day Adam. (He salutes grinning smugly as he walks back down the hall towards the elevators. Adam watches his back as he enters the car waiting a moment for the doors to close then reach for his phone.
Adam: Adam Chandler I need to talk to you today! Meet me at my office in an hour and don’t be late! ((He slaps the phone closed placing it back in his pocket. He scowls a moment then picks up his briefcase and heads down the corridor)
